Conjuring a virtual indie rock orchestra out of its two members, Bad Veins emerged from the Cincinnati scene in the late-'00s with a diverse sound slyly incorporating electro, space rock, New Wave, goth, and shoegazer. Originally a solo project of singer/multi-instrumentalist Benjamin Davis, Bad Veins came together when Davis teamed up with dramatically spastic percussionist Sebastian Schultz in 2006. After a slate of NYC shows, the band followed a long tradition of the CMJ breakout band when it wowed the magazine's festival's crowds in 2007. Two years later, the duo garnered universal praise for its self-titled Dangerbird debut. ~ Rovi
