Peter Scolari

Actor Peter Scolari is perhaps best known for his role as Henry Desmond in “Bosom Buddies” opposite Tom Hanks. Mr. Scolari also appeared in “Honey, I Shrunk The Kids,” the TV Series, and as Michael Harris on “Newhart,” for which he was thrice Emmy nominated (one win) and with consecutive American Comedy Award honors. He was a founding member of New York’s celebrated Colonnades Theater Lab (Artistic Director - Michael Lessac), where he played Camille in A Flea in her Ear, the title role in Warbeck by resident Playwright David Morgan, in too few plays by the gifted Louis Philips; most notably as a drunken sailor in The Ballroom in St. Patrick’s Cathedral, and later originated the role of Charles Varlet de La Grange in Moliere in Spite of Himself. Selected TV appearances including “The West Wing,” “ER,” “Family Ties,” “The Drew Carey Show,” “The Nanny,” “King of Queens,” “Reba,” “Ally McBeal,” among numerous others. Emmy Award winning mini-series “From the Earth to the Moon” (as Pete Conrad) for HBO, Telefilms “The Ryan White Story,” opposite George C. Scott and “Perfect Harmony.” Feature films include The Polar Express, That Thing You Do, Camp Nowhere, The Suburban Girl, A Plumm Summer, and upcoming Larry Crowne. He has also made shameless appearances on the “Today Show,” “Good Morning America,” “The Tonight Show,” “Late Night w/ David Letterman,” “Regis and Kathy Lee,” all with good intentions. Recent Broadway credits include Cole Porter’s Out of This World, Ziegfeld’s Follies of 1937, both at New York’s acclaimed City Center Encores series, as well as Hairspray, Sly Fox, and as Littlechap in Stop the World, I Want to Get Off for Showtime. Mr. Scolari was the winner of the Berkshires Theater Festival’s Best Actor Award for his work in The Foreigner.
