Gackt Camui, now worshiped as a god, began his journey to international fame as a member of Japan's visual kei group Malice Mizer. Joining them in 1995, he released two albums with the group before embarking on a solo career in 1999. His style is hard and exotic, making him a favorite of Japan's anime and gaming scenes. It doesn't hurt that he bears a strong resemblance to many animated leading men, including Final Fantasy VII's Cloud. Branching out from music, he has written, directed, and acted in films, including samurai drama Furinkazan. Recently, Gackt has joined a project known as "Skin."

Wait, it's not a woman? Maybe she just has an unnaturally deep voice? Hormone therapy can have that effect, so I've heard. Wish I was that pretty.

Perhaps I judged too harshly when first seeing this guy. When I checked out the videos linked for him here though, I have to admit, I really liked him. I can't say I'd go buy the CD, because I can't really understand any of it, and I think I'd loose alot not being able to actually see him, but I wouldn't mind seeing him perform.

Every anti-heroic anime Japanese video game villain out there wrapped into a freakishly beautiful real life body like just doesn't happen Out West. Oh, he sings and acts, too.
