Sugarcreek

This top-class pomp-rock group emerged from North Carolina, USA. The band were formed in 1981 by vocalist Tim Clark and guitarist Jerry West. Recruiting Rick Lee (keyboards), Robbie Hegler (bass) and Lynn Samples (drums), they drew inspiration from the popular AOR rock artists of the day (Journey, Styx and Kansas). They made a significant breakthrough with Fortune, a highly melodic album swathed in keyboards and silky-smooth vocal harmonies. Michael Hough was added as a second guitarist for Rock The Night Away, which marked a more commercial slant to the band’s songwriting. He quit shortly after the album was released and the band subsequently shortened their name to Creek in 1986. ~ Rovi
