An actor who first rose to prominence as the child protagonist in 1985's Witness, Lukas Haas also moonlights as a singer/songwriter. Raised on the pop/rock of the Beatles, he began integrating music and movies as his film career progressed, playing his own songs in such movies as Alan Rudolph's Breakfast of Champions and Gus Van Sant's Last Days. Offers to play with other musicians began to increase, and Haas contributed piano and guitar to several Macy Gray albums; he also played with OutKast during performances on Total Request Live and Late Night with David Letterman. Lukas Haas then jump-started his solo career in 2008 with the release of a solo album. ~ Andrew Leahey, All Music Guide
