The hard rock band Windowpane formed in Cumberland, MD, playing covers and eventually working some originals into its live set. Mammoth Records showed interest in signing them in 1995, but found their six- to eight-minute Zeppelin-influenced songs too long to be marketable. The bandmembers then decided to move to the larger market of Orlando, FL, and fine-tune their songwriting. By 1997 they felt they needed a change and moved to Seattle, WA. By 2000 Windowpane had caught the attention of Neil Young and Mad Season producer Brett Eliason, who worked on the band's 2001 release, Push. ~ David Jeffries, All Music Guide
