The singer/songwriter Kimya Dawson is most famous for contributing her child-like vocal stylings to the Moldy Peaches; a humorous, anti-folk, musical group. When the group took a break in 2004, Kimya decided it was time to begin a solo career. Her most recent album, "Alphabutt," is a compilation of children's songs which in her opinion are, "crazy."
A big breakthrough in her career came, when five of her solo project songs, as well as three songs from groups she has been a part of, were included on the soundtrack for the award winning film Juno. It became the first number one soundtrack since the Dreamgirls soundtrack, 20th Century Fox's first number one soundtrack since the Titanic soundtrack and Rhino's first number one album, topping the American Billboard 200 music charts in its fourth week of release.
