Russell Crowe always manages to engage my attention and never fails to fully commit himself to a role. In 3:10 to Yuma, which I felt was a movie with a terrible ending, Crowe delivers an impeccable performance as outlaw Ben Wade until he gains a conscience and buys into Christian Bale's sob story; though stuck with a terrible change in the character, (not unlike DeNiro's Stardust pirate, Russell pulls it off with style. The only film I didn't care for was L.A. Confidential, again not the fault of Crowe's and, of course, A Beautiful Mind was a beautiful performance.
