Drummer

Drummer is the brainchild of Black Keys skinsman Patrick Carney, who envisioned starting a band with several of his fellow percussionists in February 2009 -- but with none of them playing drums. While his bandmate in the Keys, Dan Auerbach, was on tour, Carney took the opportunity to play with drummers from other Ohio bands, including Jamie Stillman (of Teeth of the Hydra and Harriet the Spy) on guitar, Jon Finley (of Party of Helicopters) on guitars and vocals, and Stephen Clements (of Houseguest) on keyboards. Carney took on bass duties, and the four moonlighting drummers recruited Greg Boyd, also of Ghostman & Sandman, to hold down Drummer’s rhythms. The quintet recorded with engineer Ben Vehom, and their debut album Feel Good Together arrived that fall. ~ Heather Phares, Rovi
