Late arrivals to the New Wave of British Heavy Metal party, Merseyside, England's Mayhem (no relation to the Norwegian black metal terror squad) evolved from a small-time local punk rock band, circa 1985, and attempted to reinvent their raucous, Motörhead-inspired, errr...mayhem with a three-song EP entitled Bloodrush. Unfortunately, no one was buying the thinly veiled genre-hopping ruse being perpetrated by bandmembers Mick McGee (vocals), Chris Hand (guitar, vocals), Dead Cat (bass), and Collo (drums) -- all of whom were soon returned to anonymity and their punk roots when Mayhem split up. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia, Rovi
