Neo-power pop singer/songwriter Scot Sax initially made his name among power pop fans with his work in Wanderlust and Bachelor Number One (the latter of which landed a song on the American Pie soundtrack). For his first solo album, a self-titled effort released by Not Lame in the summer of 2001, Sax blended classic British Invasion pop sounds with the contemporary sensibility of pop singer/songwriters like Elliott Smith, Aimee Mann, and Tal Bachman. ~ Steve Huey, All Music Guide
