Davy Jones

Former teen idol Davey Jones, born in Manchester England, is instantly recognizable as the singer of The Monkees, a band who was able to transcend their made-for-TV origins with a string of hits such as "Daydream Believer," "A Little Bit Me, A Little Bit You," and "Valleri.” Along with his bandmates Peter Tork, Micky Dolenz and Michael Nesmith, The Monkees and their TV show lasted until 1968, after which Jones went on to establish a successful solo career. In the eighties The Monkees reunited for two tours, and Jones continued appearing in guest starring roles on various television shows. Jones has written two autobiographies detailing his experiences in the band.
