Litany

The Australian alternative rock outfit Litany was formed in Melbourne in 1993. Led by drummer Stephanie Bourke -- the founder of Melbourne's Rock 'N Roll High School, a loosely organized collective of mentors and pupils numbering well over 200 aspiring musicians -- the group also included singer/bassist Frances Evans and guitarist Melanie Schmidt. Upon releasing their 1998 debut Peculiar World, Litany became a quartet with the addition of second guitarist Suzannah Pearce. ~ Jason Ankeny, All Music Guide
