The LOX

The LOX- Living Off Experience are from Yonkers, NY. A rap trio who worked their way up through the Bad Boy label, working with Puff Daddy, the Notorious B.I.G., Mary J. Blige, and Mariah Carey before releasing their debut album in early 1998. Sheek (Shawn Jacobs), Jadakiss (Jayson Phillips), and Styles (David Styles) began rapping together in their childhood. By the time they reached their late teens, they had settled on the LOX name. LOX met Mary J.Blige and the demo was handed to Sean "P. Diddy" Combs. Sean "P. Diddy" Combs hired them as writers and were successful producing hits for him, Mariah Carey, Mase, and Mary J. Blige. They released, "Money Power, and Respect" in 1998 and it went to number three in the pop album charts.
