Clive Owen (born Oct. 3, 1964 in Conventry, West Midlands, England) is a film, television and theatre actor. Owen begin working on television movies and bit roles in movies in the late '80s and through the '90s. In 2001, he gained major notoriety in the United States for his roll as "The Driver" in the BMW short films "The Hire" which featured major directors.
Following his success with the BMW short films, he begin to act in major feature films starting with 2001's "Gosford Park." From there he took a roll alongside Matt Damon in "The Bourne Identity," following Bourne Owen begin to receive larger roles including the films "King Arthur" (2004), "Derailed" (2005), "Sin City" (2005), "Children of Men" (2006), and "Inside Man" (2006).
In 2004, Owen was nominated for an Academy Award® for Best Supporting Actor for his roll as Larry in "Closer." His performance did win him a Golden Globe® Award in the same category.
