This sought after choreographer is featured in a Tivo commercial with all original Flamenco choreography and is currently touring in 'A Brand New Me' U.S. Concert Tour as a featured guest soloist dancing both Flamenco and Jazz with Italian Tenor, Pascuale Esposito.
Ms. Acuña is co-artistic director, co-choreographer and principal dancer with the renowned dance company, Brisas de España. She was presented internationally as a star soloist with Brisas de España to perform with the premiere Dance & Opera Company of Shanghai in the Peoples Republic of China in their production of Carmen. Carolé worked with Carolina Lugo to choreograph the dance sequences in the opera for the Hangzhou dance company and also taught Flamenco master classes at multiple Performing Arts Universities throughout the Province of Zheziang.
Ms. Acuña has collaborated artistically with world class artists as a star soloist with the Miño family of Seville, Spain in Flamenco en Concierto, with Pampa Cortez of Forever Tango in choreographic fusions of Flamenco-Argentine Tango, Flamenco-Brazilian Samba with Katia Vaz, in a Hip Hop Fusion choreographed by Carolé with Spanish guitarist, Ricardo Garcia, and a Modern Dance Concert with Antonio Vargas of Mission Impossible II & Strictly Ballroom.
Ms. Acuña has performed in concert with world renowned artists such as Pepa Montes, Ricardo Miño, Pedro Ricardo Miño, Hangzhou Dance Company, Shanghai Opera Company, Shanghai Symphony, Angel Romero, Gino D'Auri, Manuel Betanzos, Antonio Vargas, Ricardo Garcia, Pascuale Esposito, Jesus Herrera, Jesus Montoya, California Symphony, Reno Philharmonic, Juan Talavera, and Mendocino Symphony, to name a few.
At age 14, Ms. Acuña made her professional debut with Rosa Montoya's Bailes Flamencos in San Francisco and toured Northern California with the company during their Concert Season. She has toured throughout the United States, Spain and China with numerous symphonies and opera companies as a guest artist and has been presented as a featured soloist at multiple theater venues on the West Coast. Her creation of Modenco TM which unites; Flamenco, Hip Hop, Modern Dance, and Jazz, has gained in popularity since its creation in 2007.
While being fifth generation dancer in her family and the daughter of Carolina Lugo, Carolé began her dance training in the home with her mother. Her formal dance training in Ballet began at age 5 with Laureen Fender at The Ballet School, in Flamenco at Rosa Montoya’s Dance Academy, in Spanish classical and Spanish regional dance at Carolina Lugo's Dance Academy and in Modern dance with Cheryl Chaddick and Robert Moses.
Ms. Acuña continues to divide her time in the Americas and in Spain while not on tour and has the honor of being the protégé of Pepa Montes who is part of the great Miño family of Seville, Spain.
