La Tropa F

The Tejano group La Tropa F comprised members of the musical Farias family -- Joe (bajo sexto and vocals) David (lead vocals and accordion), Juan (drums), Jaime (keyboards), Jesse (bass) and Jesse Jr. (percussion). Already with several recordings under their collective belt, they signed to the Manny Music label in 1990, scoring their breakthrough hit with the chart-topping "Mil Noches." In 1992, La Tropa F won the "Best Local Conjunto" award at the first annual "Pura Vida" Hispanic Music Awards; a year later, they also won the committee's "Best Conjunto" award, that same year taking home "Conjunto of the Year" honors at the 13th Annual Tejano Music Awards.
