David Lee Roth is known the world over for loudly ushering in a new era of flamboyant and over-the-top frontmanship in rock and roll as the singer of Van Halen, which he fronted from 1974 until a famously acrimonious split from the band in 1985. He carried on his antic-laden performance and recording style through several successful solo albums through the 1980s and 90s, surrounding himself with word-class musicians such as Steve Vai. Roth reunited with Van Halen for a 2008-2009 tour through the United States and Canada which grossed $93 million, a band record, and there is a rumored tour for 2009-2010.

He practically defines the musical excesses of the 80s, but how can you not love David Lee Roth? Hearing "Running with the Devil" or "And The Cradle Will Rock" brings me right back to high school, older and wiser, which, frankly, is the only way you should ever go back.
Oh, and have you seen junior's grades????
