Z-Nova

Z-nova - Unlike many efforts of the time, Keith Beltran has brought together an accomplished band with guitarist Jordon Vest, drummer Greg Stewart, and Bob Friendly on keyboards. The band has a unique ability to merge the ethereal easy-jazz side similar to Larry Charlton with the blues-rock and jazz fusion instrumentals of songs from Jeff Beck. Their musical selections bring back the style of the late great Danny Gatton as well as some aspects of Joe Satriani and Pat Martino. Their melodic technique walks the fine line between rock, jazz, and blues, often employing copious use of the whammy bar, adding to the texture. They bring back the blues roots of Robben Ford while sharing his love for the jazz influenced by Miles Davis.

Z-Nova is not just a group known for their technical skills but for their ability to plan ahead and resolve a story line built into each of their solos. They don't meander.
