Chilean pop star Nicole (born Denisse Lillian Laval Soza) began her singing career while still being a middle school student, making her debut in 1987 at a TV show called Festival De La Una with Juan Antonio Coloma's "Abrirse A La Mañana." In 1988, at the age of 12, Nicole recorded a song called "Talvez Me Estoy Enamorando," produced by Juan Carlos Duque, which became her first hit. After signing up to BMG, Esperando Nada was recorded in Madrid, produced by former Los Enanitos Verdes Tito Dávila. That album achieved platinum status in 1994. Three years later, Nicole teamed up with ex-Soda Stereo Gustavo Cerati to make Sueños de Transito, recorded in Santiago, Chile; Buenos Aires; and London. In 2001, Nicole became the first Latin artist signing up to Madonna's Maverick Records. The album Viaje Infinito arrived one year later and garnered Nicole a Grammy nomation. ~ Drago Bonacich, Rovi
