Shantel Van Santen

American actress and model Shantel VanSanten (Shantel Van Santen) was born in Luverne, Minnesota on July 25, 1985. However, she was raised in Texas where she attended Texas Christian University in Fort Worth.

While studying there Shantel also started her career as a model at the age of fifteen for the Page Parkes Management in Dallas, Texas. She then attended the Agent Review and while she was in college in Dallas, Shantel took acting courses, and was involved in stage productions. These experiences made VanSanten realize that acting was the thing for her.

With the help of the model agency Shantel audited for film roles and TV pilots in LA while continuing her modeling career. Although she might still be best known for her work on NBC’s 2005 reality show, Sports Illustrated: Swimsuit Model Search, where she was named as one of the finalists, she is now on the rise in the entertainment business.

In 2008, Shantel VanSanten was featured in a lead role as Janie Sawyer co-acting with Mischa Barton in the controversial film You and I. Her most recent role is that of Haley James Scott’s sister Quinn James in the seventh season of CW’s hit drama One Tree Hill, but even before this she has been seen in the films Spellbound (2007) and In My Pocket (2009) with Everwood’s Gregory Smith, and in a guest role in CSI: NY, also in 2009. Shantel VanSanten is also starring in The Final Destination, which will be released in 3-D on August 28, 2009.
