FOR A LONG TIME NOW I’ve wanted to create a band that was the best of both of my ideal worlds-- that is, an ensemble that can play a psychotic freejazz gig one night and blow the whiskers off anybody within earshot, while the next night stomp the foot down on the dance floor for hours and hours, tight R & B funk rocksteady sex-swinging post-apocaplyptic pre-motown musicsound like you’ve never heard before. Forgot what a live space-punk-freejazz-gospel-r&b-soul shakedown by a 15-person band sounds like? Probably have, unless you were born before the DJ fashionists kicked the masters off stage and turned the procession of LIVE-MUSIC-EVOLUTION into a high-school dance party laptop battle popularity contest for sneakers... angry yet? You better be. Time is runnin’ out. my brothers and sisters.
