The Gap Band is an American funk band who rose to fame during the 1970s and 1980s with their heavily-charged dance anthems and their sentimental and ethereal love songs. Comprising brothers Charlie, Ronnie and Robert Wilson, the band first formed as the Greenwood, Archer and Pine Street Band in 1967 in their hometown of Tulsa, Oklahoma. The group shortened its name to The Gap Band in 1979.

My love for this group and the sound they produce is intense. I love their work, I love their beat, and their enthusiasm. The Gap Band gets me dancin, and I can get everyone in the room dancing. I invite you to the American Legion Post 75, Sunnyslope, (Phoenix), AZ. I welcome you with dancing feet and open arms. We have a celebration coming up at Convension in Bullhead City, Nevada this year (2009). We are using your Party Train song, and would love to dance with you, the Vets, the Post.
