DJ John Haze "The Pope"

John Haze of Tucson, Arizona has become one of the important figures of the local dance music resurgence. Haze is an ambassador for electronic dance music in a city dominated by what is played on Top 40 radio. His relentless beats are helping to transform the city’s nighttime soundscape from a drab, uninspired collection of the “same-old, same-old”, into a creative, invigorating mix. Currently holding residency every Friday and Saturday at Tucson’s preeminent nightspot, Level Bar | Lounge, Haze frequently works the dancefloor into a frenzy, with hands in the air until the lights come on.

Always a music fan, John Haze was captivated by DJ culture in 1999. Haze was awed by the DJs ability to seamlessly blend beats, while tweaking the mixer and turntables. He almost immediately acquired the necessary equipment and began perfecting his skills. Like many DJs, Haze started rocking house parties, then moved on to various event and club gigs. John Haze (formerly known as DJ Weemak) has played numerous venues and events over the years, spinning with industry heavyweights like DJ Dan, DJ Irene, Stanton Warriors, and Dave Audé.

Versed in many styles from breaks to hip hop, John is most at home with his Electro House sound. He cites among his influences Bay Boy Bill, Donald Glaude, DJ Dan, DJ Enrie, and party people everywhere. Possessing a natural technical ability, together with stimulating track selection and a refreshing passion for the music, Haze will stop at nothing to make your body rock. With recent performances including the 2008 Winter Music Conference in Miami, Hermosillo, Mexico, Baltimore, and the legendary Drais Afterhours in Las Vegas, John Haze has been sharing his party-rocking style with crowds all over North America.

As a budding producer, John has recent credits on the Full Tilt Remix series, several remixes that can only be heard at a live John Haze appearance, and numerous upcoming all-original productions. As this versatile DJ prepares for the next level, 2008 promises to be his biggest year yet.
