Emerson, Lake & Powell

After the original ELP band temporarily broke up Emerson and Lake replaced the original drummer, Carl Palmer, with Cozy Powell creating a short lived, and far less successful off shot playfully referred to as ELPowell. Eventually the band fell apart due conflicts with the management. Cozy Powell later died April 6, 1998 when he lost control of his Saab 9000 at high speed in bad weather on the M4.
