Clarence Carter (born Jan 14, 1936 in Montgomery, AL) is a legendary soul vocalist and musician. Carter was born blind. In 1960 he graduated from Alabama State College with a Bachelor of Science degree in music. Carter has been nominated for one Grammy® in 1972 for his song "Patches."
