Sydney's 5k planning started in 2011 to honor her memory and so many like her who are disabled or have health issues that don't allow them the freedoms we enjoy. Sydney died 12-2010 from a rare condition called Friedreich's Ataxia, an inherited disease that causes progressive damage to the nervous system.
