Lucia di Lammermoor
In order to secure the favor of the King and the future of the Ashton clan, Lucia is forced into marriage with Arturo, a man she doesn't love. On her wedding night she loses her mind and stabs her husband to death. Then, in opera's most famous mad scene, she appears before the wedding party guests in her bloodstained nightgown and hallucinates about being married to Edgardo, her true love. A made-for-opera story and a score of tremendous power and beauty. Fully staged, with chorus and orchestra.
