Getting to Know Florida Native Plants

Florida native plants are the new exotic plant palette for our landscapes. Incredibly, Florida native species are unknown to far too many gardeners. Some of the many advantages of native plants are their need for less fertilizer, water and pesticides.Bruce Turley, owner of one of Pinellas County's native plant nurseries, will introduce the class to many of the plants that contributed to the naming of our state as Florida – the land - land of flowers.
