Ballgowns: British Glamour Since 1950 with Curator Oriole Cullen
The Ballgowns: British Glamour Since 1950 exhibit at London’s Victoria and Albert Museum covers the period of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign. This lecture highlights the themes of the exhibition, looking at what defines British evening wear in this period and how the role of the ballgown has changed over the past 60 years. Oriole Cullen, curator of fashion and textiles at V&A, will share stories from designers who created some of the spectacular dresses and stories from clients who wore the gowns.
