“ Otzmal, A History Not Forgotten”
Presented by Clifford Brown, Ph
Brown will be talking about Otzmal, a Maya site in the Sotuta region of Yucatán. The site is important for several reasons: 1) Maya settlement patterns; 2) A critical event took place there—a massacre—that ultimately permitted the Spanish conquest. That event is salient historical example of the effect of drought on the Maya.
