How SEO will spearhead your business online
What makes a website SEO-friendly
"Blackhat" SEO tactics that you should avoid
Search engine ranking factors and their importance
Keyword research / keyword analysis - understanding search demand and where to find that source of data (I will teach you step by step how to do keyword research)
Laying down the basics of Technical SEO (robots.txt, sitemaps, canonical links)
On page optimization (title tag, meta description, headings, image optimization)
Optimizing your page content for SEO
Understanding what links are (internal links and external links)

Day 2 - Helping Small Businesses Succeed in Local Search
This workshop will teach you the ins and outs of conducting a local search campaign and increasing your visibility in Google search results, both in Maps and Organic results. I've designed this course to focus on Canadian businesses. The following topics will be covered in this training:
Basics of Local search - what is Local Search and why is it important for SMBs
Local search ranking factors – what really matters right now
Analyzing the competition of your local search industry
How to conduct local keyword research
Optimizing your website with local search best practices (we'll be skipping over the basic of on-page optimization as it is covered on Day 1)
How to effectively get more positive reviews for your business online / offline
Local citation discovery and management - understanding why having a consistent NAP is one of the keys to ranking high in Google
Building the "right" local links and creating the "right" content for local sites
Measuring success in local search campaign
What every student will receive
A better understanding of how SEO and Local SEO works and how it could apply to your business
