About PROGRAM
The Act Raising Safe Kids Program is a national research-based, evidence-informed parenting program taught by service provider professionals who teach parents to create safe, healthy environment that protect children from violence before it begins.

*Practical methods of discipline to use with children
*Protective factors and skills for effective parenting:Â anger management, peaceful conflict resolution, positive discipline and screen/media violence education
*Participate in community-wide prevention efforts with a support network of professionals
*The training qualifies for CEUs from Miami-Dade College and Miami-Dade Public Schools Master Planning Points (MPPs).

WHO Should ATTEND
The Act Se Regional Training Center trains and certifies professionals who work with families of young children, many of whom come from backgrounds in early education, psychology, domestic violence counseling, social work, healthcare and community economic opportunity agencies. These trained professionals return to their organizations and lead the parent education program in their own community with the technical support and assistance of the Act Southeast Center at The Melissa Institute for Violence Prevention and Treatment.
