I had my wedding reception here in June 08. Even though its advertised as a venue, good luck getting anyone to answer your calls. I finally had to go up there and lo and behold all the doors were locked. A janitor let me in an found for me to talk to.
I talked to this person only for the whole she bang. Everything was on schedule and then BAM! I get a call saying a graduation is scheduled on the same day. I cannot change venues or times at this point. My reception was to start at 4. The graduation was to be over at 12. My wedding was at 2. I had no time to set up meaning I had to hire people to do this for me.
While the location was central, I feel the planning fell short. We were given hardly any help with the sound system and towards the end of the reception a cop showed up? Claiming to be security we paid for, but I think it may have been cause we were drinking. Left a bad taste in my mouth.
Another problem was catering. This venue had only a very short list of allowed caterers. A lot were restaurants whos food I didn't even like. There was little wiggle room there. There was a lot of nepotism as to what business's we were allowed or encouraged to use.
