Nearly thirty years ago after a Knights of Ak-Sar-Ben Board meeting the idea of River City Roundup was born with notes taken on a paper napkin. Yes, a napkin.
Now what was created in 1982 as a celebration of the Midwest’s proud agricultural and western heritage has grown into one of the regions largest events. The four-day event includes a diverse offering of entertainment and family fun. The staple events include the ProRodeo Summer Finale, the 80th Annual Ak-Sar-Ben 4-H Livestock Exposition and the Douglas County Fair. In addition, numerous events like the Heritage Parade, Trail Rides, Giddy-Up Gulch and the Nebraska Beef Council’s “What’s for Dinner” Cooking Stage provide hours of excitement and activities.
Just as it was in 1982 all events are free to the public, other than the rodeo & concerts, in an effort to provide fun, exciting and educational activities to all guests. Join us as we celebrate September 27 through 30, 2007 at the Qwest Center Omaha for four days of guaranteed fun.
