On Wednesday, October 7, 2009, from noon to 1:00 p.m., at Lauritzen Gardens, author Barbara Delinsky, will present "UPLIFT: Secrets from the Sisterhood of Breast Cancer Survivors". After battling breast cancer herself in 1994, Ms. Delinsky turned her energy toward the compilation of UPLIFT, a handbook of practical tips and upbeat anecdotes for those with breast cancer. Ms. Delinsky states, "It contains useful woman-to-woman hints-things the doctor doesn't say-practical advice on topics ranging from what deodorant to use during radiation, to what minimizes nausea during chemo, to how to feel feminine and upbeat".
The luncheon costs $40 and is open to the public, however, registration is required and will open August 1, 2009, via the Center for Health Policy and Ethics' website: http://chpe.creighton.edu/. Each luncheon attendee will receive an autographed copy of UPLIFT.
