Local writers June O'Brien and Linda Strever present: Origins

Saturday, Jan 11 3:00p
Orca Books Olympia, WA

Origins: Voicing Native and Immigrant Women's Stories is a doubleheader local author event.

June O'Brien, author of the Blue Child fiction series, is a member of the Nansemond Tribe, a culture in which seeing spirits and being summoned are not unusual.

Linda Strever's Norwegian great-grandmother was a midwife, and her great-grandfather refused to believe that the earth was round. Her book "Against My Dreams" tells their story through a series of poems in her grandmother's voice.
