Reem Kelani - Arab Song at Traditions Fair Trade

Tuesday, Apr 9, 2013 7:00p

Reem Kelani, with jazz pianist Bruno Heinen, will introduce music of the Arab uprisings drawn from her experiences in Tahrir Square during the Egyptian revolution. Her album “Sprinting Gazelle: Palestinian songs from the Motherland and the Diaspora” gained worldwide acclaim. She currently records music of Egyptian Sayyid Darwish, " father of contemporary Arabic music." Kelani has worked with the best British jazz musicians and tours extensively. Cosponsored by the Rachel Corrie Foundation.
