Make Art Not Trash, and Have a Whale of a Time

Saturday, Feb 2, 2013 10:00a to 4:00p

Thurston County residents use 90 million plastic shopping bags per year. In this workshop, we will
take some of these bags and help create a 40-foot
gray whale for the Procession of the Species! Create while you learn about plastics and take home a free reusable bag. Local youth are building the whale out of plastic bags and other trash with help from Thurston County Solid Waste staff. Bring in your used plastic bags to be recycled. The documentary “Bag It!” will be shown throughout the day.
