Kevin Johnson and his puppets performed on the “Late Show with David Letterman” and more than 18 million viewers were amazed by his “Godzilla Theater” on NBC’s primetime reality show, “America's Got Talent.”

Kevin has been a ventriloquist nearly all his life. When he was just 9 years old, his parents gave him his first pull-string dummy for Christmas. Having no formal training, he taught himself the art of ventriloquism over a four year period.

Inspired by how parrots can communicate so clearly without the use of lips, the young ventriloquist developed his technique by teaching himself to speak with only his tongue and throat. Is it any wonder that his two closest puppet friends, Clyde and Matilda are birds?

Kevin was introduced to the stage by his grandfather, Harley Noles, who performed magic shows throughout Colorado. At the age of 13, he opened for his grandfather with a wooden puppet named Raymond that his grandfather handmade for him. As a tribute to his grandfather, Kevin recently added a new character his show, appropriately named Harley.

Kevin and his puppets have toured around the country and the world and recently finished a nine year run at San Diego’s Legoland California Theme Park where he performed 8,824 shows. Legoland California nominated the ventriloquist for the Big E Awards through the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions. Kevin won the honor of “Best Male Performer” in 2004 and 2006 and is the only performer to be recognized twice.

From comedy clubs to casinos to cruise ships, Kevin has always been known for his “clean comedy” and is loved and appreciated by audiences of all ages.
