Horrible Breakfast Experience

Dear Mr. Moreno,

I first met you when I had breakfast at your Uptown Grill a month or so ago. I talked to you and told you that I had reservations that night to dine at your MORENO'S GRILL with my family of 4 (where I spent over $120). You were cordial and our breakfast was pleasant.

Yesterday was the third day of my scheduled JURY DUTY, and I elected to have breakfast with my wife at your Uptown Grill. I told the waitress that I was in a rush to get to jury duty and gave my order.

I ordered your special, the SMOKED SALMON OMELET for $7.99, my wife who had eaten earlier just ordered coffee. My order arrived promptly, but when I sliced into the omelet, I saw a dish that looked very unappetizing. Among the few bits of cooked smoked salmon was this green ooze and melted orange ingredient throughout the omelet. Not one to judge a book by it's cover, I started to eat this dish. I found it to have hardly any taste of salmon, (the reason I ordered it), and the green ooze was bitter. The orange ingredient was obviously SHARP CHEDDAR. After a few bites I called our waitress over to ask her what the green mystery ingredient was. She said it was avocado. I told her that I ordered a SMOKED SALMON OMELET, not an omelet with surprise ingredients like avocado and very sharp cheddar. The ingredients weren't listed on the special board. Se told me that she has no control over that, all decisions are made in the kitchen. I told her that the extra ingredients other than the obvious salmon should be listed on the special board.

She did offer to return he dish to the kitchen, but I told her that since I'm pressed for time for jury duty, I'd try to eat it. However, after eating two thirds of it.....I couldn't eat any more. It was a horrible combination of ingredients. Mind you, I love avocado in Mexican and Japanese cooking. I also love Sharp Cheddar in the proper dish, but not when you're trying to enjoy the delicate salty taste of the EXPENSIVE SMOKE SALMON!

When I saw you walking by I called you over. I explained to you the situation. You picked up the dish and walked away without a word. When I said out loud that I would have exchanged the dish for another, except for the fact I was getting late for jury duty, you replied "I DON'T CARE!".

My wife and I were shocked. You not only didn't apologize, but you made no offer to either correct the situation, or adjust the bill. There was no smile or at the very least....THE PROMISE TO DO BETTER THE NEXT TIME WE VISITED. Yes, I bravely ate two thirds of the mystery omelet, but you obviously have me confused with a person who eats the entire dish and then demands a refund.

Because of this treatment, it is very doubtful that my wife and I will every revisit your restaurants again. With so many restaurants failing in Ocala, can you afford to treat customers this way?

I figured I'd email you before I had the opportunity to post my review and experience on the many restaurant review websites that I'm a member of.
