A Great American Intellectual

A friend asked me to write a review since I'm well known in my social circle as a fan of Noam Chomsky. But, what can an average person say about him that's interesting. I can say that reading one of his recent books, "Hegemony or Survival: America's Quest for Global Dominance" was a revelation for me.

Perhaps the simplest thing I can say about him is that, though perched at the very top of academic life, he writes and talks about issues that ought to be at the center of our lives as ordinary citizens: ask questions about how powerful corporate interests and their influence on our government.
