Come dine at Cuisine, the newest addition to the new dining Mecca in Old Oakland. The menu is creative, contemporary Ca. cuisine with a strong Mediterranean emphasis. With a full bar and an extensive small plate menu, this is a great place to stop after work for drinks or a light meal. Try the Crab Cake, a large cake topped with an intriguing spicy jam, and served on a bed of avocado puree with mango salsa. Lee's mussels are steeped in a ginger, garlic curry sauce, with a hint of Kaffir lime. The dinner menu features a delicious Beef Stroganoff in a rich Marsala-demi sauce. If you love seafood, try the Bouillabaisse with a mix of fresh seafood in a saffron and Pernod sauce that is not to be missed. The Lamb Marrakech features lamb chops with spiced couscous and a light but addictive roasted tomato-pomegranate broth. The remodeled interior features high ceilings, beautiful arches, and contemporary paintings by Phillip Simon. There is an antique bar and an open kitchen.
