Illustrated lecture on Henry Beston’s Cape Cod
Don Wilding, co-founder of the Beston Society and author of Henry Beston’s Cape Cod, will speak about Quincy native, Henry Beston. In 1927, still shaken by his experiences as an ambulance driver in France during World War I, Beston found the peace of mind he was looking for after spending a year in a 20’ x 16’ cottage on Cape Cod’s outer beach in Eastham. The resulting book by Beston, The Outermost House, has been cited as a major influence in the establishment of the Cape Cod National Seashore.
