Thursday, Jul 25, 2013 7:30p
Newton Free Library Newton, MA

A first-rate pianist, Norman Zamcheck’s repertoire covers an eclectic mix of vaudeville blues, torch boogie, funky jazz rock and more. He has been hailed by The New York Times as “exceptionally good and exceptionally original”. The members of the band are Didi Stewart, vocals, Billy Novick, saxophone and clarinet, and John Gerry Putnam, guitar. Mr. Zamcheck will be recording special a CD for this performance titled Newton 1961; the theme of which is growing up in Newton in the 1950s and '60s.
