Pulitzer Prize winning author Tony Horwitz (Midnight Rising: John Brown and the Raid that Sparked the Civil War) and Brandeis professor Jonathan Sarna (When General Grant Expelled the Jews) will explore the Civil War including a discussion of when General Ulysses S. Grant issued an order to expel Jews from their homes in the midst of the Civil War and the political reverberations it may have caused. A free film screening of Jewish Soldiers in Blue and Gray will take place at 1pm the same day.
