Zov's Cafe Bakery & Bar

The second casual restaurant owned by popular chef Zov Karamardian. The 3,200-square-foot Newport Coast location is near the San Joaquin (73) Toll Road. Nearly half of the 120 seats are on the patio, and there's a long bar indoors, too. The restaurant has similar décor – modern and clean, not pretentious – as the Tustin location's café side, with the same reliable menu of Mediterranean-influenced dishes.

The refrigerated displays show off pastries and some of the most beautiful cakes in the county by pastry chef Bracken and her assistants, who shuttle between Tustin and Newport to bake the treats on-site. Due to limited space, the range of desserts isn't as big as Tustin's, though. Walk-ins only. (Jit Fong Chin, SqueezeOC)
