Punished – Policing the Lives of Black and Latino Boys, Victor Rios, Ph.D.

Victor Rios, professor at UCSB, will present research on juvenile justice, masculinity, race and crime. He published Punished: Policing the Lives of Black and Latino Boys. Rios analyzed how juvenile crime policies and criminalization affect urban youth.

Punished received the 2012 Best Book Award, Latino/a Sociology Section, presented by the American Sociological Association.

The event will be held in the Lundring Events Center.
