Join us on Sunday, November 16 th, from 5 to 8 pm, for the inaugural event in our “Legends of Ivy” series, featuring some of the greatest names in Ivy League sports, from retired NBA superstars to the greatest Ivy League coaches and managers. Our distinguished panel (see below) will share their own incredible experiences and comment on the fast-changing world of Ivy League and professional basketball today. The $60 ticket price includes the panel discussion, hors… Show more d’ouevres, and a first cocktail (cash bar to follow), and a networking reception with our panelists and other distinguished guests. The event will be held at 48 Lounge, 1221 Ave Of The Americas (entrance on 48th St between 6th & 7th Aves).

Here are brief bios of our panelists:
PETE Carril is a legendary Princeton and NBA coach, and the creator of the Princeton Offense. Pete compiled a 514-261 (66%) record and is also the only college coach in history to win 500 games without the benefit of player athletic scholarships. Pete won or shared 13 Ivy League championships and received 11 Ncaa berths. In 1989, Princeton took top-ranked Georgetown down to the wire before losing, 50-49. In 1996, Pete's final collegiate victory was an upset of defending national champion UCLA, 43-41, one of the greatest sports upsets of all time.
ELLEN McGIRT is a graduate of Brown University, has had a distinguished career in journalism with such publications as Fast Company, Fortune Magazine and Money Magazine. Ellen is also a world class interviewer and moderator and a consultant to the NBA and will be leading our Legends of Ivy Basketball panel discussion.
STEVE Mills is a graduate of Princeton University and played Princeton basketball under the legendary Pete Carril. After playing professional basketball in Ecuador, Steve has had an incredible 30-year career as one of the leaders in the NBA business community. Most recently, Steve was Coo of Madison Square Garden, a top executive with Magic Johnson Enterprises, and is now Executive Vice President and General Manager of the New York Knicks.
BRIAN Taylor is a graduate of Princeton University and played for 10 years in the National Basketball Association and American Basketball Association. He was a second-round draft pick in 1972 for the Seattle SuperSonics and was a two-time Aba All-Star, averaging 17 points per game for the Kansas City Kings during the 1976-77 season. After retiring from basketball, Brian launched a successful business career, most recently serving as a founding principal of View Park Prep Middle School in La. Presently, Brian is the Executive Director of Teleos Preparatory Academy and has embarked on bridging the achievement gap.
