Shabbat Service, Program and Desert - Why Is Protecting the Environment a Jewish Concern? Reflections of A Jewish Environmental

Friday, Sep 20, 2013 7:30p

Global warming. Land degradation. Oil Spills. Toxic waste. Depletion of natural resources. Clearly, the environment doesn’t acknowledge borders and is a universal concern. So how can it also be a particularly Jewish issue? Do we have unique insights to bring to the discussion?

Ken Gould, professor of sociology at Brooklyn College, (as well as earth and environmental sciences, CUNY Graduate Center), will explore these questions and other related issues.
